It was a long day today. Joanne's family is moving from Walnut to Irvine. Irvine. It's not a far way city, but it is a place that we need to make effort before we can go. Well, because knowing that they would be busy, I offered to babysit Ethan and Nicole for a day. It also happened that Jessica's birthday is today, so I made an arrangement with Janis for a movie day followed by the birthday celebration in Burger King..... thinking kids like and not be bored.
Kids were excited to play with each other. The only drawback was that Angie would be away for 2 hours for her drawing class. .... During this time, I brought the kids who are starting to complain to our local library. I really like the setting of our new library. Of course Ethan started to play with the online game right away. Andrew, Nicole and Austin were running around in the kids section pretending on reading. In fact, they were really good story tellers by just looking over the pictures. Finally, Andrew and Nicole started to play the computer games as well. I was pretty amazed by how fast Andrew adopted to the games since this is his first time playing by himself..... boys are just boys!!

I should've ordered lunch before we went to pick up Angie. All hungry kids were screaming for food. I handed them the egg-roll I bought from the Vietnamese Restaurant and watching kids become happier when they are fed.

It's our second day off this week. I was wondering if we should go to Legoland since it's Thursday and my annual pass is only good for Thursdays. Luckily, Angie said she wants to go see this movie "Up". It truly is a lot easier than driving all the way to San Diego.
Again, we dropped off Andrew and Austin to school and babysitter, but it was still early. No worries,... we went to a park on the way to walk around and play in the playground. That's why I like Chino Hills so much. I can find a park everywhere I turn. Angie enjoyed her play, but also was amazed to see all the turles getting their sun tan..... Indeed, I would like to take a nap under the sun, too.
The movie she chose is “UP”, the new movie made by Disney and Pixar. She told me that her classmate saw this movie many many many times. The tone she used was very very very sour like she has never gone to any movie in her whole life. Well, part of it is true. I did bring her to the movie theater to see movie before… once…. and it was about 3 years ago. So, here we go, the nice movie theater we have in town that we never put step in!!hsinchuchen 發表在 痞客邦 留言(0) 人氣(56)
It’s the week Angie has nowhere to go. Angie’s school ended last week and her summer camp is not starting until next week. I could’ve send her to the babysitter and I know her little brothers will love to have her around. But I am selfish. I want to spend sometime with her alone! The boys can play with her at sitter’s place on Monday and Wednesday and I will have Angie for the rest of the week!!
Today is Tuesday. We went to Disneyland right after dropping Andrew to his tiny tot program and Austin to the sitter’s place. The parking was horrible partly because of the crowd and partly because of the construction they are having. I didn’t know there were so many people coming to Disneyland on this simple weekday!! My heart sunk badly….but Angie seemed not be bothered by waves of people walking towards Disneyland. She is very excited that we can finally go into the kingdom (we have been just walking around downtown Disney before we bought the annual passport as our trips to Disneyland…..).

It’s Angie’s last day in school. She finished her first grade off fine….. actually, better than just fine. She got her award for perfect attendance for the whole year and her teacher’s award in the first quarter of the school year.

Angie was chatting with me in bed. She asked me yesterday where she comes from. Since she went to a Christian Preschool, I told her that she is the reward I received from God. She was suprised. I went further and told her that I saw her flying with Angel coming to our house, I grabbed her very fast in case she was meant for Tricia's family (they live accross street). She was listening with interest. All the sudden, she asked what if Angel really was going to give her to Tricia's family. I looked into her eyes and told her that I will fight with them to get her. She gave me a big smile and felt asleep.......

Of course we didn't make it. We weren't well prepared.
Angie had an audition for her school variety show last week. We weren't going to do anything until I learned that Angie's gymnastic teacher can put the routine together for her to perform. With Angie's consent, I turned in the application form and emailed her teacher to practice with Angie the day after. It was already the Friday afternoon when Angie started to practice and the audition is next Tuesday. We practiced more on Sunday. We went to teacher Lily's studio and practice for 45 minutes then. The last rehearsal was on Monday night... then she was on her way to her first audition.
Angie waited for her turn to perform. She was the last one on the list. I asked her if she was nervous and she nodded. If you asked me how confident I was, I didn't think she would make it simply because she didn't rehearse enough. Anyhow, I told her to have fun when going on to the stage.
When it's her turn, I popped the CD in the player and watched her perform from the back. She was so nervous and she forgot some of her steps. The routine was only 2 minutes, but it sure seemed longer than 2 minutes.
Earlier today, I checked the list posted by the office. She wasn't on the list. She is one of the a few students didn't make to the variety show. I told Angie that she didn't make it and she didn't seem to care. Although she is invited to work on the back stage, I think I better check with the committee to see if they really have something for my little Angie to do........ heehee!!

Angie's teacher started the journal writing assignment for their class. It totally brings back the horrible memories when I was in school. I hate journal. I hate hate hate journals. I was really lack of imagination and I still don't have that now. I have already told Take that any school assignment requies imagination belongs to him. He has to work with them on that. I didn't know what to write when I had to write my daily journal back in elementary school. No matter how I tried, I wrote a page with very boring messages.... kind of feel sorry for my teacher back then.
Angie was pretty excited though since she could draw a picture related to the topic her teach gave her. The topic for this week is flower. She wrote something about flowers and quickly went on to the drawing part. She couldn't wait to use the glitter pens her uncle brought her back from Taiwan. She first drew the sky and all the flowers in many differnt colors on the ground. I asked her if there's anything in between the sky and the ground. She looked me with her big eyes and said "Flowers!!" I laughed. Of course her flowers were between the sky and the ground. I was thinking birds and other moving creatures. So, I asked her if anyone could enjoy the flowers. Those flowers seem pretty lonely there. I suggested birds. She was worry and didn't know how to drew her birds first, but soon drew these two birds quickly. I looked at her journal and thought her work sure beats my work when I was her age. I hope it's the result of my investment in her weekly drawing class....um... maybe!!
