Toward the end of last year, I made a soaker with the left over yarn I had in hand. Really, my goal is to make a wool soaker/cover for Austin since I am CDing him. CDing = Cloth Diaper + ing. With lanolin in wool, the acid smell can be neutralized (so said many many parents who tried it). Since I am pretty bad in sewing PUL covered cloth diaper, I decided to stay in "fitted" style which I can manage to sew. The drawback is that now I will need to solve the cover issue...... not very nice. I don't like the plastic one. It works great. It blocks the leakage and holds Austin's pee, but it can be VERY smelly as well. Anyway, I made this:
...... and it's too big. Not only that, knitting round is a challenging for a knitting newbie like me. I lost count and skipped stitches.... anything you can think of, I seemed accomplished that.
So I searched for another pattern:

This is the flat knitting pattern. I first knit everything flat then sew them together on the side to make it like a pull-up shorts. It's easy and I did it fine. The sewing part though was not fun at all. Because of my inpatience, the soaker turn out to be not so even as it should be. I think it's wonderful, but I must admit I made some mistakes when sewing it up. But at least, it's now the right size for Austin and he can actually wear it.....
To fulfill my curiousty, I found this pattern:

It works like a wrap or simply like a diaper. I just started it today.... and will post pictures once I finish it.
With all the uncertainly while I am knitting, I am just glad the yarn I bought was on sale.
PS.... I started the soaker, but realized that this pattern requires felting and sewing after knitting... so, I quit.... Of course, I started another project which I think is much better than this one. Will post in another message.
